An established neighborhood with room to spread out

River Ridge was built in the 1980s and 1990s, before Georgetown’s big growth years, and it shows in the best way. The trees have had decades to grow, the lots are generous by today’s standards, and no two streets look quite the same.

Homes with character

One and two story homes in brick, stone and siding, including floor plans around 2,000 square feet as well as larger homes. Sizes and layouts vary by property. Many have been updated over the years, and each has a personality of its own.

Big yards, big trees

Lots run roughly a quarter to a half acre, which leaves space for gardens, play sets, a pool or simply a little extra distance from the neighbors. Mature oaks shade almost every street.

Greenbelt and river views

The neighborhood sits above the San Gabriel River, and many homes enjoy views of the greenbelts and river, adding to its peaceful, natural setting. Views vary by property. Public river access through the neighborhood has not been verified. Please do not assume paths or apparent access points are open for public use, and obtain permission before crossing private property.

The story of the neighborhood pool: River Ridge once had its own swimming pool on South Ridge Circle. It began as a neighborhood amenity, was later taken over by the City of Georgetown, and became known for an unusual setting, built on a cliff with a deep end ten feet down. The city closed the pool in its 2025 to 2026 budget, kept the playground at River Ridge Park open, and has since asked neighbors for input on the future of the site.
A little known perk: neighbors often notice River Ridge keeps its power when other parts of town go dark. Circuit assignments can change, so buyers should not rely on this when choosing a home.
Where River Ridge meets San Gabriel Heights: the two neighborhoods sit side by side, and some streets are part River Ridge and part San Gabriel Heights. Longtime neighbors say the garages give it away. River Ridge required side or rear entry garages, while San Gabriel Heights homes have front entry garages, and on some streets you can even spot a slight seam in the road where one neighborhood ends and the other begins. Buyers should check the subdivision named in a home’s legal description to know which neighborhood a house is in.
